Artemis ultrasound

We went to check the ultrasound today. It was such a drama..

I already made peace with the possibility that there are no puppies coming - I was checking her belly all the time and no change, but the vet surprised us. Puppies will come and it looks like there will be plenty of them. He couldn´t count how many but there was a lot of small balls. I am really glad that we succeeded and I´m attaching a few photos of our mother to be. Pictures were taken by Kačka from Lara on Saranga sprint. Artemis didn´t run, she was only watching her master to prepare one of the tracks. . Artemis 19th day of pregnancy photos here

Mating - litter D

Artemis Wandellmere is in heat from 31.7. It was a little earlier than I expected, but the groom ( Arengo Essence of Haika ) was already arranged so everything could start.

First progesteron test was made 8th day in the morning - 7. 8. - 2,3 ng/ml
repeated two days later 10th day in the evening - 9.8. - 8,8 ng/ml

10.8. we went for the mating, second time 12.8., everything went alright so we look forward to puppies and we hope that this time it will work out fine.
You can find photos in photo gallery
We thank to our friend Elfka for the photos - amnio.webnode.cz

Dog shows in Brno

We attended the dog shows in Brno on the weekend of 6-7.2.2010. It was two international shows at the same time and a lot of dogs were reported.

Categories of Rhodesian Ridgeback were really filled, as always

There was 97 dogs on Saturday and 82 dogs on Sunday.

We showed only Bazi on Saturday so we had more or less rest day and in addition to it there was Bazis older sister Agbani with Hanka Zachariasova coming so we had the opportunity to have a chat.

Bazi run the open class with 10 other females. She likes shows very much, she enjoys it a lot. She would just need to calm down a little bit while running, because she still gambols like a puppy. She doesn't look like 7 years old ( in two months ) at all.

Our female from litter C, Cairo African Queen Wandellmere, attended the show for the first time on Sunday. I showed her and she was really good in it. Her owner taught her a lot and I train her sometimes in holding the pose while watching her over. Cairo is fortunately very perceptive female so she knows exactly what are we expecting from her.

Both girls obeyed really nice outside the circle and they stood wonderfully inside the circle too, only the run was a little bit exhilarated. Cairo still can afford it because of her age and I think we can't do anything with Bazi any longer. She is just an unbelievably happy dog.

We slept at Vlastiks place on Saturday ( the owner of Caira ) and we thank him for the that and for a nicely spent rest of the day. We took Caira for a walk and Marketka with Fatimka joined us too. Eventually we end up at a comfy pub eating a great dinner.

Our results:

On Saturday : Basilissa Fontanesia V3 from 10 females in open class

On Sunday : Bazi V, she was between 5 best females but she didn't reach the best positions - 10 females again

Cairo African Queen Wandellmere V4 from 16 females in yound class.

We were very happy, girls were fabulous and the show was -except of some little deficiencies with arrival - wonderful.

You can find complete results on ČKRR web pages.

And photos of our girls ( in a horrible quality though ) are on rajce.net

Gingers on the snow

We have really a lot of snow after a long time this year, I would almost say way too much. Girls don't want to walk in the high snow so we have to look for the paths which are at least a little bit well-trodden. So we got lucky to find some on the field - I don't know who made it there and why, but you can walk really nice on it. Artemis is serviced 12th day today so we can see anything yet and she doesn't look like she want's to spare herself. We took some actual photos of our gingers in the snow on 23 and 24th January. You can see them here
